Privacy Policy for Date & Time
Last Updated: March 25, 2026
App Name: Date & Time
Bundle Identifier: Cassianmx.ClockWidget
Developer: Cassianmx
Introduction
Date & Time (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our Date & Time widget application (the “App”).
Information We Collect
Date & Time is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to our own servers.
The App does not:
- Track your usage or behavior
- Use analytics or tracking services
- Display advertisements
- Sell or share information with third parties
Local Data Storage
The App stores the following information locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults and App Groups:
- Widget Layout Preferences: Your selected layout options for small and medium widgets
- Progress Bar Settings: Your progress bar display preferences and schedule settings
- Calendar Preferences: Which calendars you have selected to display events from
- Cached Calendar Events: A temporary, local cache of your upcoming calendar event titles and times, used to display your next event on the widget
All locally stored data remains on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
Calendar Access
The App can optionally access your device’s calendars to display your next upcoming event on the widget. This feature requires your explicit permission.
Apple Calendar (EventKit)
When you grant calendar access, the App reads your upcoming events using Apple’s EventKit framework. Event data (titles, times) is cached locally on your device to display on the widget. This data is never sent to external servers.
Google Calendar
You may optionally connect your Google account to display events from your Google Calendar. This uses Google Sign-In and the Google Calendar API.
When you connect Google Calendar:
- Authentication: Google Sign-In handles authentication securely. Your Google credentials are never seen or stored by our App. OAuth tokens are managed securely by the Google Sign-In SDK and stored in your device’s Keychain.
- Calendar Data: The App requests read-only access to your Google Calendar (calendar.readonly scope). It fetches your calendar list and upcoming events to display on the widget.
- Data Usage: Google Calendar event data (titles, times) is cached locally on your device, the same way Apple Calendar events are handled. This data is never sent to our servers.
- Disconnecting: You can disconnect your Google account at any time from the App’s settings. This removes all cached Google Calendar data and revokes the App’s access.
The App’s use of Google Calendar data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
App Groups
The App uses iOS App Groups to share widget settings and cached calendar data between the main app and the widget extension. This is a standard iOS feature. All data shared through App Groups remains on your device.
Widget Functionality
The Date & Time widget displays:
- Current date and time (from your device’s system clock)
- Your selected layout preferences
- Progress bar visualization based on your schedule settings
- Optionally, your next upcoming calendar event
The widget updates automatically every minute. No data is collected or transmitted during these updates.
Data Security
- All settings and cached data are stored locally using iOS’s built-in security features
- Google OAuth tokens are stored in the device’s secure Keychain
- No data is transmitted to our servers
- Calendar data is cached temporarily and refreshed when you open the App
Children’s Privacy
Date & Time does not collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The App is safe for users of all ages.
Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following third-party services, only when you explicitly enable them:
- Google Sign-In: Used for Google Calendar authentication. Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Google Calendar API: Used to read your calendar events. Read-only access, no modifications are made to your calendar.
No other third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks are used.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date.
